Overview
Sculpting is a fascinating process for creating work in a three dimensional perspective. Through the primary use of polymer clay, this hands-on introductory class provides young artists with an opportunity to experiment with fundamental sculpting techniques and tools on a wide variety of fun projects. Students will use pinchpot, coil, and slab hand-building techniques, as well as contrasting additive versus subtractive approaches to sculpture. For more complex sculpts, students will construct wire armatures. Finally, students will learn color theory and painting techniques to apply the finishing touches to their sculptures.
Mid-Winter Break will be February 21st-25th. Spring Break will be April 4th-8th. Classes will not occur during these breaks.
