Overview

This course is for students aged 7-9 years old who want to explore how programming, game design, art production, and sound design are combined to create engaging video games. You will gain a new appreciation for the hard work that went into making your favorite games and create games that you will be able to share with your friends and family! 

Concepts and Skills Covered:

The video game production process
Game design principles, including game balance and effective interface design
Coding basics such as variables, conditionals, iterations, and functions
Art production processes and tools
Creation of sound effects and music

Mid-Winter Break will be February 21st-25th. Spring Break will be April 4th-8th. Classes will not occur during these breaks.

None

Computer Requirements:

Students must have access to a computer as well as additional hardware and software. Some programs or courses may indicate additional technology requirements, and not all programs are Mac compatible.

Three-button mouse
