Description

Manga refers to the Japanese style of cartooning in graphic novels and Anime. If you love the art from shows like Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, or Pokemon, this workshop is for you! Using industry-level traditional mediums for Manga, we will cover the fundamentals of stylized proportions and character design, line quality, and all things Manga! This is a great opportunity for your student to not only learn how to draw like the animators on the shows they love but also to meet like-minded individuals who share a passion for this cultural art sensation.

Students will need to have their own digital drawing tablet (eg. Wacom CTL400, Huion Inspiroy H640P) for this course.

You will learn:

  • Foundations of drawing in Anime/Manga style
  • Basic anatomy and techniques for figure drawing
  • Various traditional and digital illustration techniques required for sequential drawing

Tuition includes:

  • Art supplies and materials

Prerequisites:

  • Prior drawing experience with drawing and color will allow you to maximize your focus on visual development of their stories and character designs.

Technical Requirements:

Students must have access to a computer as well as additional hardware and software. Some programs or courses may indicate additional technology requirements, and not all programs are Mac compatible.

  • Windows PC or Mac computer with web camera
  • Display with minimum resolution of 1024 x 768. While it is not mandatory, it is recommended to have a second monitor connected to the computer to extend the desktop. This allows the student to more easily follow what the instructor is demonstrating while concurrently being able to see the software environment that the student is working within.
  • Headset with microphone
  • Three-button mouse
  • Digital drawing tablet (eg. Wacom CTL400, Huion Inspiroy H640P)
