Exploring Video Game Development

Games are fun to play but they are even more fun to make! Come explore how programming, game design, art production, and sound design are combined to create engaging video games. You will gain not only a new appreciation for the hard work that went into making your favorite games, but also to create games that you will be able to share with your friends and family!

You will learn:

• Game design principles including basic game mechanics and play balancing
• Coding basics such as variables, conditionals, iterations, and functions
• Art production for backgrounds, characters, and interface
• Processes to create music and sound effects for your game
• The video game production process from design to final testing
