For almost 18 years, Mark Henne worked in the production trenches as a Technical Director at Pixar Animation Studios. Specialized in hair and clothing simulation, Mark worked with crowd animation and character facial rigging, as well as doing significant research and development of new production techniques for many of Pixar's innovative films. In this presentation, Mark will talk about the production pipeline used for animation and games. He will then discuss how companies like Pixar and Disney continue to evolve their processes and technologies to handle the scale and visual quality bar expected by today's audience. And finally, Mark will look at a case-study of a DigiPen student production that is using real-time rendering to complete their animated film.
This live talk is on Saturday, April 18, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. PDT.
